The Mayflower size guide is based on chest width measured directly on the body.
When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

A beginner-friendly sweater worked top down with increases in the yoke. The Novice Sweater is knitted in stockinette stitch with ribbed edges.
The Novice Sweater – Chunky Edition is made with Mayflower Anyday Breezy, a fluffy, woolly yarn with lovely volume. This makes the sweater both soft and cozy to wear.
Note: The photos show two different colors of the same sweater. The bottom ribbing on the mustard version is longer than on the gray one.
