Mayflower Super Kid Silk is one of the softest silk mohair yarns on the market. It is spun from the exclusive fibers silk and mohair. The glossy kid mohair fibers come from young Angora goats, where the fibers are extra soft, fine and long. Elastic, durable and moisture-absorbing, mohair is reminiscent of silk with its strength and natural shine.

Silk has been used in textiles for thousands of years. Our silk mohair is spun from mulberry silk, which provides the best quality. It is responsibly sourced and the silk larvae have left the cocoons before they are harvested.

Super Kid Silk is wonderful when used as the only yarn quality in a project. You will get an extraordinarily light and airy result with unmatched soft lightness. Many people choose to use a Super Kid Silk yarn as a companion yarn with one of Mayflower's other yarn qualities, such as wool, to provide extra texture while maintaining the light, lustrous sheen of silk mohair.
