Mayflower Super Kid Silk is one of the softest silk mohair yarns on the market. It is spun from the exclusive fibers silk and mohair. The shiny kid mohair fibers come from young angora goats, where the fibers are extra soft, fine, and long. Mohair is elastic, durable, and moisture-absorbing, and resembles silk with its strength and natural luster.

Silk has been used in textiles for thousands of years. Our silk mohair is spun from mulberry silk, which provides the best quality. It is sourced responsibly, and the silkworms have left the cocoons before they are harvested.

Super Kid Silk is wonderful when used as the only yarn quality in a project. You will achieve an extraordinarily light and airy result with unparalleled soft lightness. Many choose to use a yarn like Super Kid Silk as a companion thread together with one of Mayflower's other yarn qualities such as wool to provide extra structure while maintaining the light, shiny sheen that silk mohair provides.

Both mohair and silk fibers take on color extraordinarily well, allowing for fantastically beautiful, saturated colors. We have an extra-large color range, so you can find the perfect shade for your project.
