Description

London Merino Fine is a classic wool yarn in extra fine merino for needle 3. It is spun from 100% pure merino wool and is one of Mayflower's finest and softest yarns. The yarn is comfortable, also against sensitive skin, and is therefore excellent for baby knitting and crocheting; such as baby sweaters, bonnets, bloomers, and baby blankets.

The yarn is extra resilient and therefore retains both elasticity and softness, even after washing. The structure of the yarn will make lace patterns, cables, and textured knitting appear with beautifully defined stitches. The wool is superwash treated and can therefore withstand machine washing. The yarn is certified according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.

    Ulden er vidunderlig at strikke og ser ud som ny selv efter gentagen vask. En stor farvepalet tilbyder mange mulige kombinationer, men det ser også godt ud, når det strikkes i sort/hvid. Takket være det ensartede stingmønster skiller kabelmønstre eller blondemønstre sig også meget godt ud her.

Mayflower London Merino Fine is a wonderful yarn and actually one of our softest wool yarns. It consists of 100% pure merino wool of really good quality from South America, which also means it is mulesing-free. The yarn is spun in Italy with a focus on high quality throughout the entire production.

London Merino Fine is an amazingly soft, warm, and comfortable yarn because it is spun from extra fine merino wool. The extremely fine yarn structure provides a beautiful and distinct stitch definition, and the yarn's elasticity makes it easy to work with. The elasticity also contributes with an extra beautiful effect on texture patterns and cables, which will pop out and be even more clearly defined.

The extra fine wool makes London Merino Fine particularly suitable for both children's knitting and baby knitting. The wool's properties are also ideal, as it makes the yarn both warm and breathable. On needle 3 mm, there are many possibilities to knit, for example, fine sweaters, bloomers, baby bonnets, etc., which are soft and warm for the baby and feel nice to wear. Knitted or crocheted baby blankets will also be lovely in London Merino Fine - and moreover, easy to maintain.

The wool is superwash-treated and can therefore withstand machine washing. London Merino Fine has a lovely resilience, which means that the elasticity and softness are retained even after a trip in the washing machine. Just remember to use wool detergent and never fabric softener when washing wool. Often, it's enough to just air out your wool clothing, which also doesn't wear it out.

If you tend to knit or crochet loosely, it might be a good idea to adjust down ½-1 size in needle or Needle when working with a classic merino yarn like this. We recommend that you always start by making a knitting or crochet swatch and wash it according to the instructions to ensure that your Knitting gauge is correct.

Since London Merino Fine has a high elasticity, it can be a challenge to combine the yarn with a non-elastic accompanying thread, such as Super Kid Silk. Therefore, we generally do not recommend this combination, especially if you do not have a lot of experience with knitting. If you still choose to knit these two yarn qualities together, you must be extremely careful to knit evenly and with consistent tension in both yarns to ensure a beautiful result.

The same lovely yarn quality is also available in a thicker version for needle 3½ - 4 mm, Mayflower London Merino, which comes in the same wide range of colors.
