Santiago Light is a wonderfully soft, light and airy high-quality yarn. Made from extra fine merino wool, super soft baby alpaca and recycled polyamide, it has a wonderful softness with a fluffy and fluffy texture. The colors are mottled, giving knitting and crochet an exceptionally beautiful play of colors.

The soft yarn is ideal for everything from sweaters to scarves, and you'll get very far with 300 meters per skein. Santiago Light is an improved version of New Sky Light and can therefore be used in many of our patterns.

Can be used to..

Santiago is produced for Mayflower at a renowned spinning mill in Italy with a strong focus on craftsmanship, and it shows. The yarn has a fantastic, lightweight fiber composition that is both warm and durable, and the merino wool and alpaca content gives the yarn a very special fluffy and fluffy texture.

Alpaca and wool are both organic and breathable fibers that keep you warm. Merino wool is extra fine and incredibly soft and comfortable. Alpaca wool is actually even warmer than sheep's wool and is wonderfully soft and fine. Santiago is therefore a very soft and delicious yarn, which is clearly noticeable when you knit or crochet with it.

All polyamide content is spun from 100% recycled fibers, and the fine-meshed polyamide yarn holds the fine wool fibers together. Polyamide makes Santiago Light very durable without affecting comfort.

With an impressive running length of 300 m per 50 g, Santiago Light has a very long range. You don't need many balls of yarn to knit or crochet a sweater with a beautiful and super lightweight result.

Santiago Light is the improved version of New Sky Light, which is a discontinued Mayflower quality. Santiago Light differs by containing significantly more of the soft merino wool, which makes the yarn even softer. Santiago Light is also easier to knit with, as unlike New Sky Light, no elastic polyamide is used. As the two yarns have the same gauge, you can use Santiago Light for patterns originally developed for New Sky Light, just remember to always start with a crochet or knitting swatch and wash it before measuring it to make sure you get the gauge right.

Santiago Light is particularly ideal for garments, scarves and accessories, and the yarn is flexible, so you can knit on a thick needle for an even more light and airy result, or combine 2 or more strands. In fact, you can also use the yarn as a companion yarn with wool, for example, where it can add an extra fluffy and soft texture.

Santiago Light is also available in a thicker version, Santiago, which fits needle size 6 mm and up.
