Hand-dyed yarn has color variations

Hand-dyed yarn has greater color variations than machine-dyed yarn. Therefore, Montreal can have shade differences even within the same skein, even if you use yarn from the same dye lot. To avoid abrupt transitions between skeins, we recommend creating a smooth transition at each skein change.

When you are nearing the end of your first skein, switch to the new skein. Knit/crochet for example 1-2 rounds with the new one, then 1-2 rounds with the old one, switch back and continue like this until the first skein is used up. It doesn't remove the difference, but smooths the transition between each skein a bit more.

About Montreal

The lovely, full-bodied volume and color play make Montreal suitable for, for example, stockinette stitch and simple designs, where instead the beautiful colors come into focus. The lustrous merino wool has a fantastic softness and a good weight. The yarn's volume makes it ideal for soft and full-bodied garments that should be used on the cold days of the year - such as a warm and cozy sweater. The yarn is suitable for both knitting and crocheting. The full-bodied structure makes it particularly important to make a knitting or crochet swatch, which is washed according to the instructions, before you start your project.

The hand-dyed Montreal comes in a fantastic selection of colors. Colors 1-10 are multicolored, where several different shades play together in a unique flow. Colors 11-14 are 'semi-solid' and not completely solid-colored, where the beautiful color depth is created with only one color. We have left the creamy white color no. 15 uncolored, and it is therefore suitable for hand-dyeing if you would like to experiment with yarn dyeing yourself.

Montreal is also spun from South American merino wool, which is mulesing-free. It is great for smaller projects like hats, neck warmers, gloves, etc. You can also combine the colors, for example, if you knit a sweater in 'semi-solid' with multicolored stripes.

NOTE

- Montreal is wound in skeins and therefore needs to be wound into balls before use

- Hand-dyed yarn varies greatly in color intensity and is uneven in dyeing, which is part of its charm

With hand-dyed yarn, there can be large color differences between the individual lots, and you must ensure that you have purchased enough yarn for your knitting or crochet project. With Montreal, there can also be color differences on the skeins, even if you use yarn from the same dye lot. To avoid abrupt transitions between the skeins, we recommend that you create a more gradual transition when switching to a new skein. When you are nearing the end of your yarn skein, you can switch to the new one a little earlier. Knit/crochet, for example, 1-2 rounds with the new skein, then with the old one, switch again to the new skein, and continue this way until your old skein is used up. This does not remove the difference, but it smooths out the transition between the skeins a bit more.

Montreal is also spun on South American merino wool, which is mulesing-free. It is great for smaller projects like hats, neck warmers, mittens, etc. Additionally, you can also combine the colors if, for example, you knit a sweater in 'semi-solid' with multicolored stripes.

Fantastic experience.
Completely painless experience buying yarn from Mayflower. My order was sent off super quickly and I already had my package the next day. It was extremely great, as I needed it as a gift!

Kristian

Good experience in the webshop and great handling of complaints. In March, I bought a lot of yarn skeins in the webshop. Super fast delivery and very nice quality yarn: Cotton Merino.

Mette

I bought a lot of yarn from the webshop after getting really good guidance over the phone. The yarn was really good. The problem was the delivery with dao, which did not live up to what was ordered. I wrote to mayflower to make them aware of it, and was called by the nicest Lady, who was happy for the feedback and compensated my wasted delivery costs. That's what I call really good customer service.
