Mayflower London Merino is spun from 100% extra fine merino wool and is one of our finest and softest wool yarns. The yarn is resilient and has high elasticity, resulting in beautifully defined stitches whether you're knitting or crocheting. This also means that cables and textured patterns, for example, look fantastic in London Merino.

Because the yarn is springy, it retains both elasticity and softness - even after machine washing. Knit or crochet London Merino at 3½-4 mm, not too loose, and remember to measure gauge on a washed swatch.

London Merino

Mayflower London Merino consists of 100% pure South American merino wool of the finest quality. The yarn is spun in Italy with a focus on quality. London Merino is one of our finest and softest yarns and has many great properties.

London Merino is spun from extra fine merino wool, which makes the yarn incredibly soft, warm and comfortable. Ideal for garments such as a soft blouse or a comfortable sweater. London Merino's fine structure gives a beautiful stitch definition when knitting or crocheting. The yarn has a good elasticity, which contributes to a great effect on both textured patterns and cables, where these will be much more clearly defined. The springiness of the yarn means it retains its softness and elasticity wash after wash.

The extra-fine wool also makes London Merino excellent for baby and children's knitting. The soft wool is ideal for sweaters, blankets, hats and the like, which are soft and warm and feel great against even delicate skin. As an added bonus, merino wool is mulesing-free. The wool is also superwash-treated and can therefore withstand gentle machine washing at 30 degrees. Remember to use wool detergent and never use fabric softener on wool.

London Merino benefits from being knitted a little tight. Therefore, if you tend to knit on the loose side, it may be a good idea to adjust ½-1 size down in needle or needle size. We recommend that you always start by making a knitting or crochet swatch and that you wash the swatch according to the instructions before starting your project to ensure that your gauge is correct.

As London Merino has a high elasticity, it can be challenging to combine the yarn with a non-elastic companion yarn, such as Super Kid Silk. Therefore, we generally do not recommend this combination, especially if you do not have a lot of knitting experience. If you do choose to knit these two yarn qualities together, be sure to knit evenly and with consistent tension in both yarns to ensure a beautiful result.

London Merino is available in 40 beautiful shades, and the same delicious yarn quality is also available in a thinner version in exactly the same colors for 3 mm needles, Mayflower London Merino Fine.

Fantastic experience.
Completely painless experience to buy yarn at Mayflower. My order was sent off quickly and I already had my package the next day. It was extremely cool when I had to use it as a gift!

Good experience in the webshop and great processing of complaints. In March I bought some yarn keys in the webshop. Super fast delivery and very delicious quality yarn: Cotton Merino.

I bought some yarn from the webshop, after getting really good guidance by phone. The yarn was really good. The problem was the delivery with DAO, which did not live up to the ordered. I wrote to mayflower To draw attention to it, and was called by the cutest lady who was fond of the feedback and compensated my wasted delivery costs. That's what I call really good customer service.
