Really light and airy shawl in a wonderfully soft and colorful yarn.

The Tagetes Shawl gets its triangular shape as it is knitted from the center outwards. You therefore start with very few stitches stitches on the needle and gradually increase the number of stitches on each row. The pattern with two rows of stockinette stitch and two rows of reverse stockinette stitch gives a beautiful and slightly voluminous rib pattern. The pattern is easy to follow, which also makes the shawl a good beginner project.

The Tagetes Shawl is knitted in Mayflower Taormina, which is an extremely soft and beautiful yarn with alpaca. The shawl works really well in this yarn, as the incredible softness of the yarn provides a wonderfully comfortable shawl that you want to drape over your shoulders and use. The shawl is also pleasantly warm yet still light and therefore does not feel heavy to wear. Garter stitches in Taormina give the shawl a light and comfortable fullness, which is nice for a shawl where you want a warming and protective effect. Taormina is also durable and will therefore easily last through several seasons.

The very special feature of the shawl comes from Taormina's fantastically beautiful color change. The colors in each skein are carefully selected and work well together, so the shawl will contain elements of many different colors that match various outfits and occasions. The continuous color change makes the Tagetes Shawl a fun project to knit, as it constantly changes color and expression.
