1 Class Tweed is a variant of the well-known sock yarn Mayflower 1 Class. It differs from 1 Class by containing tweed flecks in viscose.

Mayflower 1 Class Tweed is based on our popular Mayflower 1 Class, which is a high-quality sock yarn. The yarn is produced in Italy at an experienced spinning mill. The difference between the two yarn qualities is that 1 Class Tweed is added with tweed flecks in viscose.

Tweed flecks give the yarn both structure and a beautiful color play, and the flecks come in two different variants. Some of the yarn colors have tweed flecks in muted, natural colors, while some have multicolored tweed, which adds even more color play and fun to the yarn. There are thus yarn colors that appeal to both children and adults.

1 Class Tweed consists of 70% pure new wool and 25% polyamide, which is a traditional and very strong fiber composition for sock yarn, providing high-quality yarn. The last 5% consists of viscose, which makes up the tweed flecks; those that make the socks stand out.

Wool makes knitted socks wonderfully warm and soft, and polyamide gives the socks high durability. Both properties are important qualities when it comes to knitted socks. They need to be both comfortable, soft, and warm, as well as able to withstand use. Therefore, it is important to go for the highest quality when it comes to sock knitting if you want to be sure to get socks that can withstand the wear and tear of everyday life. And 1 Class Tweed is precisely sock yarn of the highest quality. The yarn is spun with extra-long wool fibers, which increases the yarn's durability and longevity. The wool is also South American and mulesing-free.

1 Class Tweed can withstand gentle machine washing, and the socks are therefore quickly ready for use again. It comes in several different beautiful shades, which have a fantastic color depth, and it is also a lovely yarn to have in your hands. Half of the tweed colors are kept in neutral tones like beige, natural, and black, while the other half is spun with multicolored tweed in bright colors.

The yarn weighs 50g per skein, and you should therefore calculate a consumption of about 2 skeins of yarn to knit a pair of socks up to approx. size 46 in stockinette stitch.
