Description

Alliance Fine is a fine and really soft yarn with a glossy structure. It has high durability because it is spun on Turkish cotton, which is characterized by its long, flexible fibers. It is a good needle size 3 yarn, which is also particularly suitable for baby and children's knitting.

The cotton blend is really good for clothing that should not be too heavy. After washing, your clothes in Alliance Fine remain soft and keep their shape. Use it also as an alternative to wool yarns if you do not tolerate lanolin, which is found in, for example, wool or mohair. The yarn is certified according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.

Alliance Fine is a fantastic soft cotton blend. The yarn is spun on Turkish cotton with long fibers and is therefore very durable. Even after washing, your knitted or crocheted clothes remain wonderfully soft and hold their shape.

The fiber composition provides a really nice and extremely soft yarn, which also remains soft after being washed. Furthermore, the yarn does not become dull in color or stiff after a few trips in the washing machine in the same way that pure cotton tends to. Additionally, the fiber composition helps your knitting/crocheting maintain its shape in use. Alliance Fine has a really good absorbency and also dries quickly. The yarn is delightfully light and comfortable, making it particularly suitable for clothing for both children and adults.

The combination of breathable and natural cotton with airy acrylic fibers makes Alliance Fine great for soft clothing that shouldn't be too thick. Alliance Fine is also an excellent alternative for those allergic to animal fibers such as wool or mohair, which contain lanolin. Here, you can of course also choose 100% pure cotton, which you can find in our classic Cotton 8/4, also in an organic variant; Cotton 8/4 Organic.

For Alliance Fine, we recommend needle size 3 mm, and the gauge matches several of our wool yarns, such as Mayflower Easy Care, London Merino, and Mayflower Easy Care Tweed. Therefore, you can choose to use Alliance Fine in our Patterns, which is made specifically for these other yarns, thus avoiding the animal fibers found in wool yarns.

Furthermore, Patterns with the discontinued quality Mayflower Cotton 1 can also be replaced with Alliance Fine. The blend of cotton and polyacrylic is the same, only Alliance is a much better version in a more luxurious quality. Just remember to start with a crochet or knitting sample to ensure you hit the specified Knitting gauge in the pattern. This is especially important when using a different yarn than the pattern is designed for.

Alliance Fine is also available in a thicker version, which is knitted on needle size 4 mm (Mayflower Alliance), and which has the same fine color selection with both delicate shades and wild bright colors.
