Great-grandfather sweater
The softest sweater in warm yarn to keep your little one warm in the stroller or on a cold day.
The great-grandfather sweater is worked from the bottom up. First in stockinette stitch, then the work is divided into front and back at the armholes and finished separately in a simple textured pattern consisting of knit and purl stitches. The sleeves are worked separately and then sewn to the armholes. Cast on stitches along the neck edge for ribbing. On one side of the neck edge, make a slit and attach a button to make it easier to get the sweater on and off.
The great-grandfather sweater is worked in double strand consisting of one strand Mayflower Easy Care Tweed and one strand Mayflower Super Kid Silk. This combination produces a wonderfully soft and fluffy quality that makes the sweater lovely and comfortable to wear. The tweed stitches give the sweater life and play of color, and the yarn comes in a variety of beautiful colors. The sweater is easy to care for. As the yarn is superwash-treated, the sweater can easily be machine washed.
