When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

The sweater is worked in stockinette stitch top down with raglan increases in the yoke. All edges are worked in rib and the neck edge has a folded rib edge.
The Nikolaj sweater is knitted in the fine and woolly tweed yarn Mayflower Birmingham. The sweater is therefore comfortably soft, and the thin yarn quality makes for a sweater that is neither too thin nor too thick. The sweater can therefore be worn all year round, both indoors and outdoors. Birmingham is available in many beautiful colors, and the many tweed knots give a nice play of colors.
