The lovely Sophie Shawl from PetiteKnit is worked back and forth from one end to the other. The shawl is knitted in garter stitch with i-cord edges, and it can be made in three different sizes. The version shown in the photo is the large size.

The Sophie Shawl can be knitted in several different yarn qualities, and here it is knitted in the alpaca blend Mayflower Taormina, which features a gradual colour shift. The result is a beautifully soft and colourful shawl that feels wonderful around the neck.

The shawl can also be knitted in a solid colour using Mayflower Taormina Shade, or with Mayflower Taormina Flow, which also has a lovely, more subtle colour transition. All three yarns have the same fibre composition, including alpaca.
