Easy Care Classic Tweed is a durable wool blend with the fine color play that occurs when soft merino wool is spun with beautiful tweed flecks in natural shades. It is produced in Italy and belongs to the Easy Care family, from which the base colors are also derived.

The fibers of the yarn absorb color differently, creating a slight mottled effect that enhances the natural charm of tweed yarn. It matches the “regular” Classic in Knitting gauge, and therefore our Patterns can now be made with or without the tweed effect.

Note: For colors 516, 545, 4501, 4506, 4507 and 4510 there may be a misprint on the label. It states that the yarn runs 185 m per 50 g – the correct length is 106 m per 50 g.

Mayflower Easy Care Classic Tweed is a lovely addition to our popular Easy Care series. The yarn quality has the same yardage and Knitting gauge as Easy Care Classic, but it also features the most beautiful tweed flecks in viscose.

You will definitely be happy with Easy Care Classic Tweed if you already like our Easy Care Classic, because the tweed variant is even softer. In both yarn qualities, you will find the finest merino wool, which provides a very special softness, combined with the other good properties of wool fibers.

Easy Care Classic Tweed gets its beautiful color play from the merino wool mixed with tweed flecks in viscose. The yarn fibers absorb color in different ways, giving it a super fine expression.

The color selection is inspired by some of the colors you might already know from Easy Care Classic. We have carefully selected the most inspiring base colors and combined them with flecks in atmospheric shades to create the perfect color play.

Easy Care Classic Tweed has an airy structure, making the yarn delightful to knit with. The stitches lay nicely and evenly, giving you a beautiful overall impression and a good knitting experience. At the same time, Easy Care Classic Tweed is also easy to maintain, as it is superwash-treated and can be machine washed. However, be aware that the tweed variant cannot be tumble dried, unlike our standard Easy Care series.
