Black safety eyes that you can attach to your knitted, crocheted or sewn teddy bear. Using safety eyes instead of, for example, knots of yarn gives the finished result a really cute and more natural look.
The safety or amigurumi eyes are black with a diameter of 6 mm and there are a total of 20 sets of eyes in a bag.
On the back of the safety eye, there is a plastic closure mechanism that ensures that the eye stays firmly in place and, when fitted correctly, the eye will not fall off. The stem of the safety eye itself has some grooves, and no matter which groove you press the plastic part down over, the eye will stay firmly in place. The grooves are practical as the safety eyes can be attached to, for example, a sewn teddy bear made with a very thin piece of fabric, and the eye can also be attached to a teddy bear knitted with a very thick yarn.
Mounting:
1. It is important that the stopper is mounted close to the back of the eyelet - at the bottom of the stem.
2. Strengthen the stopper's hold on the eye/stem by melting the outer part of the stem.
3. Watch our video to see how to (easily) melt the end of the stem slightly and then press it wide.
4) This makes the end piece wider than the stopper hole, which greatly strengthens the installation.
5. Always remember to check that the eyelet and stopper are intact and that the fitting is firmly attached to the needlework.
NOTE: When making crafts and homemade items, especially for babies, it is important to be careful with the fastening. Especially careful with knots and loops. To be safe: Always check carefully before use and discard if there are any signs of damage or wear.
