Alliance is a fine and soft cotton blend with a lustrous structure. It is spun from Turkish cotton with long fibers, which gives an extra strong yarn. The fiber composition means that Alliance retains its shape and remains soft, even after washing. It has good absorbency and dries quickly.

Alliance can, for example, replace Easy Care Classic, so use it for a summer version of your favorite wool sweater. The yarn is wonderfully light and feels pleasantly cooling against the skin. Additionally, Alliance can be a good alternative for you if you cannot tolerate animal fibers.

Mayflower Alliance is a fine, glossy, and really soft cotton blend. It is spun on Turkish cotton with long fibers, which makes it a very durable yarn.

The good blend of fibers means that the yarn is soft and remains soft - wash after wash. The yarn also does not become dull in the same way that pure cotton often does after a few trips in the washing machine.

Alliance has a fantastic lightness, which means it feels incredibly comfortable against the skin. The yarn can also be a great alternative if you are allergic to lanolin in, for example, wool or mohair, as the yarn does not contain animal fibers.

The soft ‘alliance’ between airy acrylic fibers and breathable natural cotton makes it a great yarn for precisely soft clothing for both children and adults or, for example, blankets, which should have a bit of weight - without being too thick.

We recommend needle 4 mm, and the knitting gauge in Alliance also matches our Easy Care Classic. This means that you will be able to knit the majority of our designs, which are created for Easy Care Classic, in Alliance instead. If you do not wish to use wool, it gives you many good design options. This also applies if you just want to make a summery version of your favorite sweater in a light and cooler yarn.

Perhaps you remember the classic Mayflower Cotton 2 yarn, which is a discontinued quality. It had the same fiber composition, but Alliance is a much better quality. There are plenty of older Mayflower-Patterns that were made for Mayflower Cotton 2. Here you can easily replace it with Alliance. Just always remember to start with a crochet or knitting sample, so you are sure to hit the specified Knitting gauge in the pattern.

Alliance is also available in a thinner version for needle 3, Alliance Fine, which has the same fine color selection.
