Mayflower Aspen 2nd sorting is a high-quality and soft yarn made from a blend of wool and viscose. The fiber composition makes Aspen a lovely summer yarn, suitable for both knitting and crocheting. Aspen is an incredibly soft tubular yarn with an elegant, shiny metallic look.

This yarn is classified as 2nd sorting because there may be color variations between skeins within the same dye lot, and even within individual skeins. As a result, stripes may appear in the finished piece.

However, Aspen 2nd sorting is perfectly suitable for patterns, stripes, or similar projects where the yarn is combined with other colors and not much of one color is used before switching. In such cases, any color variations will be less noticeable. The full-bodied and soft Aspen is ideal for garments such as sweaters, slipovers, and cardigans, as well as cozy accessories. Aspen is OEKO-Tex certified.

The viscose in Aspen makes the yarn an exceptionally soft quality with a natural and beautiful shine with a light metallic sheen. It provides great comfort, feels pleasant against the skin, and is flexible. The viscose makes the stitches fall beautifully with fine draping. The wool makes Aspen warm and breathable with a combination of fibers that makes it an attractive choice for clothing and accessories for everyday use, such as shawls, ponchos, and scarves.

Aspen's shiny appearance also makes it ideal for clothing for more festive occasions where elegance and uniqueness are a must, such as for blouses, tops, vests, boleros, cardigans, and sweaters. Aspen can both be knitted and crocheted on a 6 mm needle and can be machine washed on a 30-degree gentle wash.
