The Embla cardigan is a lovely and voluminous crochet cardigan with a pattern that resembles knitwear. The cardigan has a slightly oversized fit and loose balloon sleeves and is finished with firmer edges at the sleeves and bottom of the cardigan. The design is simple and easy to follow, making it suitable for both intermediate and advanced knitters.

The body of the cardigan is crochetedFrom one side to the other and over the shoulder, starting with a long row of chain stitches and continuing in single crochet in a piece that goes from the bottom of the front piece over the shoulder to the bottom of the back piece. When the shoulder is finished, crochet only half of the piece to form the back. At the start of the next shoulder, make more chain stitches again, so that the piece again goes down to the bottom of the front. The sleeves are crocheted separately, sewn together and sewn to the armhole.

The rib pattern is created by working half double crochets in the back loop, and the edges at the bottom of the cardigan and at the armholes are created by switching to tight double crochets. The cardigan is fastened with buttons.
