Description

Maxima is a luxurious and colorful single-ply yarn, made from 100% extra fine merino wool of exquisite quality. It is spun in Italy with a special technique that creates many layers in the smooth color transitions. The colors blend with a unique twist, giving the yarn an expression reminiscent of fine shading with colored pencils. This makes the yarn exciting and visually fascinating. The yarn has a special print sequence that makes each skein's immediate appearance vary greatly, even though they have the exact same color code. The yarn is certified according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.

Maxima provides an almost hypnotic knitting and crocheting experience, as it reveals new color dimensions with each stitch. The fine merino fibers make the yarn delightful and comfortable to work with.

Maxima is ideal for larger projects where the exclusive color transitions can unfold. With its beautiful color play, simple stockinette stitch or seed stitch looks stunning. Maxima is great for, for example, warm, soft sweaters, ponchos, shawls, and cardigans that need a unique and lively expression. For hats, scarves, and mittens that require a close and warm texture that feels nice against the skin, or for interior items like decorative pillows that create a focal point and exude quality.

Mayflower Premium Maxima is recommended for knitting and crocheting on a 6 mm needle. The combination of the extra fine fibers and single-ply twist may cause some pilling with use, which can be gently removed, for example, with a lint shaver. The yarn is superwash treated. Be mindful of your Knitting gauge, and wash your crochet or knitting sample according to the instructions before starting your craft.
