Peruvian baby alpaca is the finest and softest of alpaca fibers, so you can already feel how wonderfully soft Premium Alpaca is. However, this fluffy yarn not only has the softest and most delicious texture, but is also highly durable, so your knitting or crochet will last for years to come.

Baby alpaca from Peru is also known for being an extra warm fiber compared to other alpaca wool, and the warm and insulating fiber also has high breathability. Premium Alpaca is therefore ideal for knitted and crocheted projects such as sweaters, vests, hats, scarves and other warm and soft clothing. Alpaca does not contain lanolin. The yarn feels great against the skin and is lovely to work with.

The soft baby alpaca has a slight weight, which gives the finished project a nice, natural drape with a fine drape. The natural weight of the yarn also means that you need to be careful not to knit too loosely when knitting with 100% alpaca. We therefore recommend that you be careful with e.g. cable and garter stitch, which can grow and become longer.

With a gauge of 21 sts x 30 rows, the plush Premium Alpaca can be used for a variety of projects. However, the smooth surface and natural heaviness means that you can't simply replace 100% wool with 100% alpaca 1:1. This makes it extra important to make a knitting or crochet swatch and wash it according to the instructions before measuring.

Premium Alpaca is available in 30 different colors. As alpaca fibers are particularly good at absorbing color, Premium Alpaca comes in the most beautiful, strong and bright colors that have an exceptional color depth. The majority of the colors are melange, which gives the yarn and the finished project even more color play and character.
