Alexandria is a wonderfully soft, durable, and long-lasting choice for knitting or crocheting clothing, interior, and accessories. The long and fine Egyptian cotton fibers provide a soft, silky, glossy, and elastic result. It is spun on four threads and has a classic thickness that allows it to be used for all Mayflowers Patterns with Cotton 8/4.

You can of course take advantage of Alexandria's good absorbency for standard dishcloths, washcloths, and guest towels, but the high quality also invites you to use the yarn for baby clothes, where the cotton's natural absorbent fibers help to transport excess heat away from the body. It is also ideal for rattles, comfort cloths, baby blankets, and teddy bears, etc. The durability can also be maximized for toiletry bags, purses, clutches, cushions, blankets, or for a fine summer top for children and adults.

Alexandria fits knitting needles 3-3.5 mm and crochet hook 2.5-3 mm. It has a length of 170m and can be machine washed at 60 degrees. To increase the durability of yarn projects with Alexandria, we recommend washing at 40 degrees, while cloths used for cleaning and personal hygiene should of course be washed at 60 degrees.
