A beautiful, graphic scarf with squares of different sizes, creating a rectangular scarf with a fascinating pattern.

The nettle scarf is made with domino knitting. A special knitting method where you knit the squares along the way by casting on a new square at the edge of an already knitted square. As you knit, you bind off so that there are fewer ends at the end. The technique of domino knitting is not difficult once you get started and the pattern and chart will guide you through. Finally, knit an outer edge.

The scarf is worked with two different colors of yarn Mayflower Birmingham, which is a wool blend with soft alpaca and viscose. The viscose adds shimmer to the yarn, giving the colors a mottled look. Birmingham is ideal for a scarf like the Nettle Scarf, as it will be warm, insulating and temperature regulating.
