Mayflower sells a range of yarn qualities that carry different certificates. This is possible because we are constantly working to improve our supply chain to ensure that both the environment and animal welfare are taken into account.
By choosing certified yarn, you get a guarantee that your yarn meets a wide range of requirements. In most cases, the certificates not only set requirements for how the yarn is dyed and spun, but also for every step of the entire process from the production of the fibers to the yarn on the shelves.
We have the most yarn qualities that carry the OEKO-Tex certificate. OEKO-Tex yarn is not a completely organic yarn, but there are significantly stricter rules regarding the use of chemicals than current legislation in Denmark and the EU allows. In addition, extensive environmental considerations are also taken into account in production, so greenhouse gas emissions are minimized and wastewater is treated responsibly. Last but not least, there are also requirements for working conditions and social welfare, so that all employees in production are ensured good working conditions.
