Construction:
The sweater is knitted from top to bottom. stitches stitches are cast on for the back piece, which is knitted back and forth on the needle while making increases on each side. stitches stitches are then picked up for the left and then the right shoulder piece, which are joined to form the front piece. The front and back pieces are joined to form the body, which is knitted in the round in stockinette stitch. The body is finished with a rib edge. Then, stitches stitches are picked up for the neck edge, which is knitted in the round in double rib. Finally, the sleeves are knitted. stitches stitches are picked up along the sleeve opening, and the sleeves are knitted in the round in stockinette stitch while making decreases on the underside.

Pattern: 
The body of the sweater is knitted with a South American-inspired pattern, which can be knitted in two or more colors. The color in which most of the sweater is knitted is called the base color, and the color(s) in which the pattern is knitted is called the pattern color. The appearance of the pattern depends on the size:
In sizes 3-9 months, 2-3 years, 3-4 years, 4-5 years, and 5-6 years, the pattern has both 'stars' and 'diamonds'.
In sizes 9 months-1 year and 1-2 years, the pattern consists only of 'stars', to ensure the pattern fits evenly around the entire round.

Size guide:
The sweater can be knitted in 7 different sizes: 3-9 months (9 months-1 year) 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 years with a circumference of the sweater of 54.5 (63.5) 63.5 (73) 73 (73) 73 cm. We recommend a positive ease of 10-20 cm compared to the child's chest/waist measurement. The length of the body and sleeves can be adjusted to fit the child's height.

Knitting gauge:
22 stitches x 24 rows on 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch.

Recommended needles:
3.5 and 4 mm Circular Needle.
