This sweater is constructed with a braided saddle shoulder. You start by casting on stitches for the back piece, which is then knitted back and forth while creating the shoulders and neckline through increases. Once the yoke is complete, stitches are set aside for the sleeves, and loop cast-ons are made under the arms. The body is joined and completed in the round, allowing for the length of the sweater to be adjusted as needed. A twisted rib edge is worked at the bottom of the body. The sleeve stitches are then placed back on the needle, and stitches are picked up in the armholes. The sleeves are finished with a twisted rib edge and Italian bind-off. Finally, stitches are picked up around the neckline, which is knitted in twisted rib and folded to create a double collar.
