London Merino Fine is a classic wool yarn in extra fine merino for stick 3. It is spun by 100% pure merino wool and is one of Mayflower's finest and softest yarns. The yarn is comfortable, also against delicate skin, and is therefore excellent for baby knit and crochet; Such as baby sweaters, kisses, bloomers and baby blankets.

The yarn is extra resilient and therefore preserves both elasticity and softness, even after washing. The structure of the yarn will cause hollow patterns, twists and structural straps to appear with beautifully defined stitches.

The wool is superwash-treated and can therefore withstand machine washing.

Mayflower London Merino Fine is a wonderful yarn and actually one of our softest wool yarns. It consists of 100% pure merino wool of very good quality from South America, which also means it is mulesing-free. The yarn is spun in Italy with a focus on high quality throughout production.

London Merino Fine is a wonderfully soft, warm and comfortable yarn because it is spun from extra-fine merino wool. The extremely fine yarn structure gives a beautiful and distinctive stitch definition, and the elasticity of the yarn makes it easy to work with. The elasticity also adds an extra nice effect to textured patterns and cables, which will pop and define even more clearly.

The extra-fine wool makes London Merino Fine particularly suitable for both children's and baby knitting. The properties of the wool are also ideal as it makes the yarn both warm and breathable. On 3 mm needles, there are many possibilities for knitting fine sweaters, bloomers, baby kisses, etc. that are soft and warm for baby and feel comfortable to wear. Knitted or crocheted baby blankets will also look great in London Merino Fine - and are easy to maintain.

The wool is superwash treated and therefore machine washable. London Merino Fine has a lovely springiness, which means that the elasticity and softness is retained even after a wash in the washing machine. Just remember to use wool detergent and never fabric softener when washing wool. Airing your wool garments is often enough, which doesn't wear them out either.

If you tend to knit or crochet loosely, it may be a good idea to adjust ½-1 size down when working with a classic merino yarn like this. We recommend that you always start by making a knitting or crochet swatch and washing it according to the instructions to ensure your gauge is correct.

As London Merino Fine has a high elasticity, it can be challenging to combine the yarn with a non-elastic companion yarn, such as Super Kid Silk. Therefore, we generally don't recommend this combination, especially if you don't have much experience with knitting. If you do choose to knit these two yarn qualities together, you must pay close attention to knitting evenly and with consistent tension in both yarns to ensure a beautiful result.
