Boat Blouse Pattern
The sweater is knitted from the top down. First, stitches stitches are cast on for one shoulder, which is shaped by knitting back and forth while making increases for the neckline. The other shoulder is knitted in the same way, after which the two shoulder pieces are joined with a loop cast-on, creating the yoke. The yoke is knitted in the round in stockinette stitch while making further increases. The stitches are divided into a front and back piece, which are knitted separately. They are joined again under the sleeve, and the body is knitted in the round in stockinette stitch. It finishes with an i-cord edge. Then stitches stitches are picked up along the neckline, which is also knitted as an i-cord edge. Then stitches stitches are picked up for the sleeves, which start with short rows. After that, they are knitted in stockinette stitch with either increases or decreases along the way, depending on whether balloon sleeves or straight sleeves are desired. The sleeves also finish with an i-cord edge.
