Soft and warm bonnet in a textured pattern knitted in a thin and lightweight wool quality. You'll have enough in just one skein. The ear flaps of the bonnet fit snugly over the child's ears and provide good protection from both wind and cold.

The 'Old Streetlight' bonnet is started by first knitting the ear flaps in stockinette stitch. Then join the pieces on one needle and cast on extra stitches in the neck and forehead. Continue working in the textured pattern until the top of the bonnet, where you work in stockinette stitch while decreasing.

Make the rib edge by picking up stitches all the way around the edge. Bind off in ribbing, but do not bind off individual stitches at the bottom of each ear flap, where you will now work a tie.

The cowl is knitted in the soft and delicious Mayflower London Merino Fine, which is a lovely wool yarn spun from extra fine merino wool. This makes the kiss really comfortable, non-scratchy and feels great against your baby's skin. The wool is breathable and warm, so the bonnet will both warm and allow the baby to get rid of excess heat.

27 sts in structured pattern on needle 9 = 10 cm.
