The Mayflower size guide is based on chest width measured directly on the body.
When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

A classic, well-fitting men's sweater knitted in beaded rib, worked from the bottom up.
The simple pattern with knit and purl stitches gives a nice structure. Perlerib is easy to knit (knit every other row instead of knit + purl) and the pattern doesn't contract like a regular rib pattern, giving it a nice texture.
The sweater is knitted with two strands Mayflower Easy Care (the yarn is doubled). The thin wool yarn, which consists of 100% pure wool, is available in a very wide range of colors as well as a tweed version with the same gauge and length. Both variants can be used for the pattern - and both are machine washable.
