The skeins of Mayflower London Merino in 2nd sorting are of the same good yarn quality, as the fiber composition has not been changed. Therefore, you get the same good result in your knitting and crochet projects. The difference is that there may be irregularities in the spinning of the skeins in the 2nd sorting. However, these irregularities are not so visible in the finished knitting or crochet result, and any irregularities will be further evened out after washing.

Mayflower London Merino is spun from 100% extra fine merino wool and is one of our finest and softest wool yarns. The yarn is resilient and has high elasticity, which provides beautifully defined stitches, whether you knit or crochet. This also means that, for example, cables and texture patterns look fantastic in London Merino.

Since the yarn is resilient, it retains both elasticity and softness – even after machine washing. Knit or crochet London Merino on 3½-4 mm, not too loosely, and remember to measure the knitting gauge on a washed sample.

Mayflower London Merino consists of 100% pure South American merino wool of the finest quality. The yarn is spun in Italy with a focus on good quality. London Merino is one of our finest and softest yarns and has many good qualities.

London Merino is spun from extra fine merino wool, making the yarn incredibly soft, warm, and comfortable. Perfect for clothing such as a soft blouse or a comfortable sweater. London Merino's fine structure provides a beautiful stitch definition when you knit or crochet. The yarn has good elasticity, which contributes with a fantastic effect on both structure patterns and cables, where these will be defined much more clearly. The yarn's resilience means that it retains softness and elasticity wash after wash.

The extra fine wool also makes London Merino excellent for baby and children's knitting. The soft wool is suitable for sweaters, blankets, hats, and similar, which are soft and warm and feel wonderful against even sensitive skin. As an extra bonus, the merino wool is mulesing-free. The wool is also superwash treated and can therefore withstand gentle machine washing at 30 degrees. Remember to use wool detergent and never use fabric softener on wool.

London Merino benefits from being knitted a bit tightly. If you tend to knit loosely, it might be a good idea to adjust down ½-1 size in needle or Needle. We recommend that you always start by making a knitting or crochet swatch and washing the swatch according to the instructions before starting your project to ensure that your Knitting gauge is correct.

Since London Merino has high elasticity, it can be a challenge to combine the yarn with a non-elastic accompanying thread, such as Super Kid Silk. Therefore, we generally do not recommend this combination, especially if you do not have a lot of experience with knitting. If you still choose to knit these two yarn qualities together, you must be extremely careful to knit evenly and with consistent tension in both yarns to ensure a beautiful result.

London Merino is available in 40 beautiful shades, and the same lovely yarn quality is also available in a thinner version in exactly the same colors for needle 3 mm, Mayflower London Merino Fine.
