Pachira Hue Pattern

Construction:

The hat is knitted from the rib edge towards the top of the hat. Cast on stitches using an Italian cast-on and knit in the round in rib. Once the rib is completed, start the cable pattern as described in the pattern. Towards the top of the hat, decreases are made while adjusting the pattern, and the hat is finished at the top when there are only a few stitches left on the needle.

Knitting gauge:
It is important to check the gauge before casting on stitches for the project. If the gauge does not match, the finished hat may be significantly larger or smaller than the specified measurements. The gauge should be 24 stitches x 26.5 rows on 10 x 10 cm when knitted in the cable pattern, as described under “Pattern,” corresponding to 1 repetition of the pattern measuring 8 cm in width and 3 cm in height. We achieve this gauge with 4 mm needles, but find the needle size that best suits your Knitting gauge.

Length:

22 cm when the rib edge is folded.

Recommended needles:

4 mm needles, possibly 3.5 mm needles for the rib edge.

Mayflower Easy Care Classic (50 g = 106 m) together with Mayflower Super Kid Silk (25 g = 195 m) or Drops Lima (50 g = 100 m) together with Drops Kid Silk (25 g = 200 m) or Filcolana Peruvian (50 g = 100 m) together with Filcolana Tilia (25 g = 210 m).

Yarn quantity:

100 g Easy Care Classic / Lima / Peruvian.

25 g Super Kid Silk / Kid Silk / Tilia.
