The Mayflower size guide is based on chest width measured directly on the body.
When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

A beginner-friendly baby sweater with a side closure, making it very practical to put on and take off. The sweater has a lovely structure that makes it both comfortable and warm to wear.
The sweater is worked from the top down in garter stitch back and forth. Both raglan increases and buttonholes are worked throughout. Rest the sleeve sts to finish the body first. Then knit the sleeves and the sweater is finished and ready to wear.
The recommended yarn is Mayflower Easy Care, which is also a great yarn for busy families with children. As the wool is superwash-treated, it can withstand both the washing machine and tumble dryer. The yarn is wonderfully soft, warm and breathable, making it ideal for children's clothing. An alternative is the wool yarn with tweed Mayflower Easy Care Tweed, which has the same knitting tension.
