The Mayflower size guide is based on chest width measured directly on the body.
When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

You can almost always use a nice cardigan, and the fit is even better when you've knitted it yourself.
The cardigan is knitted from the bottom up with rib knitting and has a good length.
Note: The original design is knitted in Mayflower Cotton 1, which unfortunately has been discontinued. As a replacement, we recommend Mayflower Alliance Fine. Always remember to make a knitting sample before starting the project to ensure that the knitting tension and therefore the final measurements hold. Also be aware that you will get a different color expression than in the picture. You can always click 'Choose another color' and find the color you like the most.
