When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

If you want to try your hand at arm knitting, we have just the right pattern here, and the result is the most lovely TV blanket that you can snuggle up under on the couch while watching a good movie.
Arm knitting is a different way of knitting that is only used with very bulky yarn. In this case, the yarn used is Mayflower Chuncky Mega, which has a running length of 50 meters per 1000 grams.
The finished TV blanket has a beautiful texture where the individual stitches are so distinct that they almost create a pattern in themselves. The project is also amazingly fast, because with a yarn of this thickness, you'll have the finished result in no time at all.
The TV blanket is a great beginner's project if you want to try arm knitting for the first time. The finished blanket will have a comfortable weight to it, as 2-3 balls of Mega Chuncky are needed for the project, which makes the blanket extra cozy to sit with.
