The wool Edna sweater has a striped ribbed edge at both the neck and bottom of the sweater, which is achieved by knitting crosswise with three different colors.

You start by knitting the striped rib and then knit the rest of the sweater from the bottom up. Then knit the sleeves and finally the collar, and sew the collar to the sweater at the neckline.

You knit the Edna sweater in Mayflower Easy Care Classic Tweed, where the yarn's viscose threads give the sweater its characteristic tweed look and mottled color. The striped waist and collar are knitted in the slightly thinner Mayflower Easy Care. Both yarns are 100% pure new wool, which is warm and insulating with good breathability. The high collar and woolly yarn make the Edna sweater a great winter sweater for the cold months of the year, and it can also be used as a transitional jacket. The yarn is machine washable.
