The Mayflower size guide is based on chest width measured directly on the body.
When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

It's so common to knit sweaters and other winter garments, but why not try your hand at a true summer project instead? Ellen Top is an example of summer knitting at its best.
Ellen Top is a lovely top knitted in a beautiful and airy waffle pattern. The summery look is further emphasized by the top's V-neck and wide slits on both sides. The top is finished off with edges in high pearl knit, which completes the top.
The key to the top's comfort is the choice of yarn. Mayflower Cotton 8/4 Organic is a cotton yarn of the highest quality, is wonderfully soft and very durable, and is available in several color options.
Cotton fibers are known to be perfect for warmer temperatures, as cotton has a natural breathability that wicks heat away from the body. In other words, a perfect yarn choice for summer knits like this Ellen Top.
The waffle pattern of the top may look challenging, but it's actually quite a simple technique once you get started and follow the chart. Once you've mastered knit, purl, decreases and yarn overs, you can easily start making your own version of the Ellen Top.
NOTE: The original design is made in Mayflower Cotton 8/4 Organic color 10. Our bundle is made in the slightly darker color 11. Just be aware that you will get a different result than in the picture. You can choose your own color by clicking 'Choose another color', which unfolds the entire color card.
