When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

Crocheted pot holders in nevercont
These pot holders are crocheted with the characteristic nevercont technique.
Nevercont is also called entrelac and produces a very recognizable result, reminiscent of basket weaving. The technique is both fun and challenging and has many applications. The pattern includes a detailed walkthrough with pictures of the technique.
These pot holders are crocheted in Mayflower Cotton 8/8 Big. The thick yarn quality ensures that the pot holders have good bulk, and thus you won't burn your fingers. Cotton yarn is also a good yarn for crocheting, as the firm yarn gives a nice structure that holds its shape well, and the pot holders can easily be machine washed.
