The Mayflower size guide is based on chest width measured directly on the body.
When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

Classic men's sweater with narrow cables.
The sweater is knitted from the bottom up to the armholes, where the work is divided into back and front pieces. Each part is then knitted separately. The sleeves are also knitted separately and finally sewn into the armhole edge.
The original sweater is knitted in Mayflower 1 Class. But if you use Mayflower 1 Class Cashmere, you will get an even softer result, as the yarn contains the softest cashmere fibers. The sweater will therefore be extremely comfortable and will feel nice against the skin. 1 Class and 1 Class Cashmere have the same Knitting gauge and yardage and can therefore replace each other.
