The Mayflower size guide is based on chest width measured directly on the body.
When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

Classic men's sweater with narrow cables.
The sweater is worked from the bottom up to the armholes, where the work is divided into back and front. Each piece is then finished separately. The sleeves are also worked separately and then sewn to the sleeve edge.
The original sweater is knitted in Mayflower 1 Class. But if you use Mayflower 1 Class Cashmereyou will get an even softer result, as the yarn contains the softest cashmere fibers. The sweater will therefore be extremely comfortable and feel great against the skin. 1 Class and 1 Class Cashmere have the same gauge and length and can therefore be used interchangeably.
