The Mayflower size guide is based on chest width measured directly on the body.
When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

Jacket in double pearl knit
This gorgeous jacket will keep you warm on those chilly days of the year. It's knitted in pure wool yarn and has wonderful comfort.
The jacket itself is knitted with double seed stitch, which gives the jacket its distinctive pattern, finished with ribbed edges for even more comfort.
The original pattern is made for Mayflower Da Capo, which is now discontinued. Instead, you can use Mayflower Easy Care Classic, which is also a wool yarn, but remember to make a swatch. You should also be aware that the two yarn qualities have different running lengths. Therefore, you will need a few more balls of Easy Care Classic.
