The Mayflower size guide is based on chest width measured directly on the body.
When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

The Malene scarf is a warm and woolly scarf for the cold months of the year, when it's nice to have something to protect your neck from both cold and wind.
The checked collar of the scarf is knitted in stockinette stitch. The lower shoulder section is worked in garter stitch in the round with one round knit and one round purl. The pattern includes a good description of the garter stitch pattern, which makes the cowl easy to follow.
The cowl is knitted in the woolly Mayflower Easy Care. The naturally insulating wool also has good breathability, making Easy Care ideal for a project like this that needs to keep you warm but not too warm. There is also a tweed version of the Mayflower Easy Care with the same gauge, so it can also be used for the cowl.
In the same loom knit series you will also find mittens, beanie, headband and poncho.
WARNING: The original design is made inMayflower Easy Care color. 037, which has unfortunately been discontinued. We think that color. 036 would be a great replacement. Just be aware that you will get a different color expression than in the picture. You can always click 'Choose another color' and find the color(s) you like the most.
