The wonderfully warm Malene beanie has a wide brim with fine checks. The beanie stands out because the brim is knitted in three different colors in stockinette stitch. If you follow the pattern and instructions for loom knitting, the technique is very affordable.

The hat itself is knitted in Mayflower Easy Care Classic in garter stitch with one round knit and one round purl, while the checkered edge is worked in the thinner quality Mayflower Easy Care. Both yarns are made from 100% pure wool, which is soft against the skin. Wool is naturally insulating and breathable, making it the ideal yarn for fall and winter clothing.

As there are tweed versions of both Mayflower Easy Care and Easy Care Classic, there are plenty of color combinations to make the Malene Huen. It certainly won't be hard to find colors that work well together. As the pattern comes in several sizes, you can knit hats to suit the whole family.

In the same loom knitting series you will also find mittens, neck scarf, headbands and poncho.

WARNING: The original design is made in Mayflower Easy Care color. 037, which has unfortunately been discontinued. We think that fv. 036 could be a great replacement. Just be aware that you will get a different color expression than in the picture. You can always click 'Choose another color' and find the color(s) you like the most.
