When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

Poncho with squares and cable edge
Thick and warm poncho with a cable pattern, featuring a wide cable border all around and a turtleneck.
The poncho is knitted starting from the bottom and working up to the shoulders. The back and front pieces are sewn together at the top, and then the cable border is knitted all the way around. Finally, the turtleneck is added to ensure optimal warmth around the neck.
The poncho is knitted in Mayflower Cosmo, which is a superwash-treated wool quality that can withstand machine washing. It is a lovely thick quality, making it very suitable for a project like this.
