The Sandra sweater is a masterpiece when it comes to color. The geometric color blocks create the most beautiful play of colors when the sweater is knitted with three different colors, and the result is phenomenal.

The sweater's color effect is created using the intarsia technique, where color blocks can be knitted without holes. In practice, each field is knitted with its own ball of yarn and when changing colors, the two colors are twisted on the back of the work. It's a simple yet effective technique that is perfect for knitting patterns with color changes that come in blocks.

The Sandra sweater is designed with a loose fit, which is complimented by the width of the sweater's balloon sleeves. The fit is also ensured by ribbed edges at the neck and bottom.

This pattern is worked with Mayflower New Sky Light, which is a blend of wool, alpaca and polyamide. The yarn has an airy fluffiness that gives a running length of 300 meters per 50 grams, even when knitting on size 4 needles.

The pattern can be downloaded at the link below. It's not particularly challenging and the intarsia technique is surprisingly easy to learn.
