The Mayflower size guide is based on chest width measured directly on the body.
When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

Sweater with wide and small cables
Beautiful, classic sweater with both small and large cables. They have different widths, expressions and textures, and one of the cables is also in seed stitch. It's a pattern that requires concentration, but the result is well worth it. The folded double neck edge provides a beautiful finish.
The sweater is knitted in Mayflower Cotton 3, which is a soft and delicious blend of cotton and polyacrylic. The combination makes the yarn wonderfully stretchy and lightweight, despite its thickness.
