The Mayflower size guide is based on chest width measured directly on the body.
When an over-width is given in Mayflower patterns, this number is adjusted to the fit that the designer intended the design to have. The stated bust width also includes the range of motion.

The Valby sweater has a wide and very distinctive checked collar that stands out and makes the sweater all its own. You'll love snuggling up in the soft collar, where the checks go all the way down to the shoulders.
The sweater is worked from the top down. Therefore, you start with the checkered collar, then finish the body while resting the sleeve stitches. Finally, knit the sleeves.
The Valby sweater is knitted in the wonderfully soft and fluffy Mayflower New Sky. This makes for a really comfortable and lightweight sweater that is great to wear on chilly days. Mix and match the colors to suit your mood and create a sweater with either a muted or colorful look. Either way, it will be wonderfully soft and comfortable to wear.
NOTE: The original design is made in Mayflower New Sky color 74, which has unfortunately been discontinued. As a replacement, we recommend color 76. Just be aware that you will get a different result than in the picture. You can choose your own colors by clicking 'Choose another color', which unfolds the entire color card.
