The wonderfully soft, warm Vibe Cardigan feels so good to wear. It's knitted from the top down, doesn't need buttons and is designed with a variety of different patterns. And since all patterns are knit and purl stitches, you don't need to be an expert knitter to follow along.
The sweater is knitted in the wonderfully rich Mayflower Rimini consisting of 67% lyocell and 33% polyamide. A thin, colored polyamide tubenet around a white lyocell base creates a breathable, warm and wonderfully soft yarn that is suitable for year-round use and has a firm yet lightweight structure. Just the right yarn for the Vibe Cardigan, which makes a lovely sweater that can quickly wrap around the body and provide a little warmth - without being too hot. The fullness of the yarn makes Rimini a great alternative to the more traditional tubular yarn with a filling of wool and alpaca fibers, for example, and makes the Vibe Cardigan a sweater that will suit all those who normally avoid wool.
Lyocell is one of the fibers of the future. It is based on organic and renewable wood fibers, most often from eucalyptus. In an environmentally friendly and gentle process, it is transformed into long fibers that can be spun into a super soft and durable yarn.
As Rimini is a stretchy yarn, you'll need large needles (size 6), but remember to do a swatch, especially if you tend to knit tightly. The polyamide mesh around the lyocell fibers is thin and fine, so we recommend that you treat it gently and keep it away from Velcro, for example, which could tear it.
The unique color combination of white inside and colored outside gives a beautiful mottled look when knitting, and the darker the yarn you choose, the easier it is to see the color difference. Rimini comes in several beautiful colors, which can make it difficult to choose just one. In this example, our cardigan is knitted in size 2 (light sand).
Once the front and back have been worked, the sleeves are worked from the top down directly on the piece by picking up stitches around the armhole. If you're quick to learn the pattern, we've also designed a beautiful short-sleeved blouse in the same distinctive structure: Vibe Tee.
Have fun with it!
