There are endless possibilities when it comes to crochet Christmas decorations, and here's our take on a crochet Christmas wreath to decorate a wall or door. The wreath has a realistic look, so you'll almost believe it's real when you see it from a distance.

The wreath is crocheted in Mayflower Cotton 8/4 and Mayflower Cotton 8/4 Organic. The leaves and bow are crocheted in two strands to give more structure, while the pine cones and berries are crocheted with one strand for finer details. 

The leaves of the Christmas wreath are crocheted using a technique called crocodile scales. The rectangular piece with crocodile scales is then sewn onto the outside of a polystyrene wreath to give the wreath its shape. 

Crocodile scales can be a slightly challenging technique if you haven't tried it before. However, the wreath is really easy to crochet and it's super fun to crochet the little pieces of decoration. There are also plenty of opportunities to make your own version of the wreath by adding your own embellishments, for example. After all, it doesn't all have to be crochet.
